Steve & Christie's Olympic Web Page - Feb 19 2002

They finally recognize the threat that Christie represents. Her toe warmers set off the alarm so she gets the special treatment.

Our view of the Aerials area today.

One of the jumpers in red. He is hard to spot against the trees. It was very hard to get pictures today. They were jumping so high, they were lost in the trees and I could not see them.

All the friendly SLOC volunteers on the way out of the Deer Valley resort where the Aerials competition was held.

This is Main Street in Park City. This line down the middle of the street is about three blocks long. It's the line to get into the ROOTS store. Roots is the company that supplied U.S. & Canadian team uniforms (and berets) which are super-hot. The line to get into the store is 2-3 hours long, even when they're sold out of berets.

Here is the store and the front of the line, notice, we're not here.

After we wait more than 90 minutes in line (and are not yet in) the store is evacuated and the FBI comes out of nowhere. Someone left a bag behind. After about 20 minutes the store reopened.

After 2 1/2 hours, we and our new friends from line are almost there!

We finally left Roots and headed back down Main Street to Jan's (to buy more Olympic crap) only to find two blocks completely sealed off right at Jan's and another bomb scare. Normally you see the police around like usual, but with the bomb scare, dozens of FBI agents came out of nowhere and the bomb squad was already on-scene.

Here is the remote-controlled bomb-squad robot, moments after it blew up one of the suspicious packages.
