Our day begins in Venice touring Doge's palace and the bell tower.

Inside Doge's Palace in Venice. This was the seat of government in Venice. It was built in the 12th century and served until the 19th century. Casanova was imprisoned here in 1755. 15 Months later he escaped to France. It is quite an interesting story! This tour was fabulous.

Something you don't often see, the inside of the Bridge of Sighs. It is the only covered bridge in Venice.

A view of Piazza San Marco in Venice from the tower high above. This was the first of many towers we climbed. This was the only one with an elevator. You can see all the chairs and tables set out in front of the cafes. At night they have live music playing.

We're now leaving Venice. There are no motor vehicles of any kind in Venice. When we arrived we hauled our luggage from the waterbus stop to the hotel. We got smart and hired a porter to carry it back for us.
